    Health related:

For a few weeks or months now, I've felt de-energized despite just being 28. That didn't sit well with me, and I remembered one occasion when I ate a lot of Cacao Powder in a day (without sweetener) and then felt like a highly energized 5 year old again. So, today, I took 6 Oz Baking Cacao (Organic) and mixed it with 20 oz water. I heated it a bit, dissolved the cacao, and drank maybe half of it with a little Goat Milk. Half an hour later or so, the great Antioxidants in the Cacao have taken hold and I feel SO much better. As such, this Cacao drink (with no sweetener) is highly recommended, just don't drink it too fast. It's no wonder why Warriors used to drink it before a battle, it works so well!

I suspect it's the high caffeine content that perked you up, not the antioxidants.

Most times when I drink Coffee, I never get perked up... Ever... Maybe what we make at home is not strong enough to. As a "control," even if it was bought from a gas station, I've rarely had a pick me up from a typical caffeine source.

All those energy drinks like Red Bull and others have megadoses of caffeine in them.

Ya, though I have no experience with most of those; they're also high in Sugar. I don't avoid Sugar completely and I'm not a Diabetic, but I do have some issues with Sugar; one is itchy skin that will turn terribly uncomfortable if I don't watch my intake carefully enough.

So. Everyone knows I moved to Texas back in mid-January, but because of the lack of money, then COVID, I wasn't able to go get my Texas driver's license till today. EXCEPT...the State of Texas will not accept a birth certificate, stamped or not, if it is laminated. So, now, instead of spending my last 25 bucks to get my license, I'm sending my money to Rhode Island for a new copy of my birth certificate. Phooey.

Rats! Well you may not be able to drive any where. But you will be able to prove you age if you want to pick up some beer.

    Welcome to Texas.

Well, this has really been an education for me. I have never heard of Cacao before today. So I checked it out. After reading about the benefits I may check around and see where I can get some. My hubby is diabetic, has blood pressure issues and is bothered by joint pain (arthritis). And who doesn't want the benefits of antioxidants?

"Eating More Cacao Can Improve Your Mood
Cacao contains phenylethylamine (PEA), which is sometimes known as a “love drug.” Although PEA cannot technically make you fall in love, it is associated with elevated mood and higher energy levels. This is thought to be due to the interaction between PEA and the neurotransmitter dopamine, which regulates the brain’s reward response (Menato, 2016)."

This maybe the reason that you felt better after you enjoyed your beverage. Glad you feel better, thanks for the tip.

Dang Andrew, that's crummy. I had a similar experience when we went to Alaska. We didn't want to spend the money on a passport, so we got passcards instead. Of course they wanted original or notarized copies of our birth certificates. My wife and sons were born in Washington, so that was easy-peasy. I was born in Wyoming. And since all we had was a photocopy of my birth certificate, I had to get a "real" one. Apparently Wyoming is still stuck in the 1800's. I had to mail them a request and $10 just to get the process started. The expense didn't end up being much in the end, but it took weeks of written correspondence to get it done!
So. I can empathize. Good luck
