Very well optioned. All power including sunroof, swivel buckets, 400 V8 and factory tach. Only the crunchy looking vinyl top detracts. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264745252860
I know almost everyone on this site likes those Factory Sunroof's but they are a minus to me, 99% of the time the seals are shot, they leak water, replacement seals are both hard to come by, and require the complete removal of the headliner & sunroof mechanism to repair properly. Expensive if you can't do it yourself & alot of work if you can! But a nice example at the $5000 starting bid, but it has a reserve, so who knows what the seller actually expects to get for it? also small block 400 powered, those engine either are trouble free or Lemons with over heating issues.
no mention of the repaint. After market turbine like wheels. Interior is nice and it's optioned well.
It doesn't surprise me, if it was a no reserve auction starting at $5000 I think there would be bids by now. Also not many pictures posed, and the sellers notes list quite a few expensive things to fix, does it need a 1/4 panel replaced? Engine needs rebuilding, A/C & power windows don't work. And that's just what the seller lists. Plus it has "sat" for over 5 years, What else is wrong with it? $5000 is probably about what the car is worth in its present condition, not $10,000 or what ever the reserve is set at. Low mileage Monte Carlo I bought from the original owner back in 2005. Needs to be finished as I haven't had the time and don't want it to sit. Parts come with the car, NOS quarter panel, Numbers matching 4 barrel intake, 4 barrel carburetor, front springs. Transmission was refreshed when I bought it but the 400 small block needs to be rebuilt. AC and power windows and doors works.
I guess after 15 years you do realize that time has slipped away. With opportunity cost of money he might have been better off selling it in 2007 when it still needed “stuff”. Who am I to talk I have a 1960 Cadillac I bought in 2003. Have had mechanicals done, and transmission rebuilt. Paint and interior sure would have been cheaper in 2003. I hope to still have it redone in its original Siena Rose, and a new white Convertible top. Still a fun car to drive as she sits.
I would never have been comfortable owning that siamese-cylindered smallblock. Despite being heavier, I would have ordered the 402 instead
It's getting to the point where bidding where there's no reserve is becoming a waste of everybody's time anymore
