I hate dealers that spend more time talking about their finance options than the car itself... obviously sold by someone who has no clue as the 4 speed would warrant more than a brief mention in the footnotes.

Hands down the best year for these I think. 4 speed with the tach on the hood?! If engine compartment is as clean as the rest of the car and I had an extra 30k I didn’t need this might be one of the qualifiers.

Are those turbines correct? Don’t know enough about AMC. They look good, and agree Grizz ‘70 is the year for those.

I agree. The front end styling on this year (as well as 1971) looked a lot 'cleaner' than later designs.

It *does* look like a cleanly done auto-to-manual conversion.

Oh. That guy. That looks like it could be a real AMC tach or a pretty close facsimile. I wonder why they have tape on the lens where the AMC logo might be. The whitewalls and the white mud flaps don't do much for me.

Wheels not correct for 1970. Look more like a Pacer option for 1980. But look great on this Ambassador!

I knew if I asked someone would sleuth it out. Even with the conversions that’s probably gonna bring a pretty penny. It’ll be interesting to see what that ‘67 Squire fetches with it’s powertrain and manual option brings.

If the interior had instead been colored red and the front seats buckets, I'm sure he'd have a better chance
Original or not, it looks well done, from here

Those rims look sharp on that car.

And probably a breeze to clean compared to the ford turbines

AMC sure got a lot of and long use of those door handles. I wonder when they 1st appeared and when they last appeared.

Looks like they first showed up on the 1968 Javelin, AMX, Rebel and Ambassador. They didn't bother with the Americans, since they were approaching the end of the model run.

And I see them on the last 1988 Eagle Wagon 4 wd . That's a good 20 year run.
