We mighta been doin' the same thing at the same time. I went back years later and saw how pretty it was.
There was an event very similar to The Hope Slide that ocurred along hwy 395 between Carson City and Reno, Nevada, also in the 60's I believe. Don't have any figures on the size, but by the look of your photos it was probably in the same range. There's about 3/4 of a mile between the highway and the base of the mountain at that point. The slide covered the highway with about 10 feet of earth for about 400 feet.

I wanted very much to hook up with you but had the warden with me and when it come's to women and grandpuppy's it not a contest...I hope to do another trip and see a lot of car people.....This one was the family thing which is good....I have a couple of pictures more....
The next trip I go on I hope to do a car people trip.....This trip was a long overdue one to visit my mother and two sisters and son and his family...It was good to see me mom as her is 89 and has the start of that dementia thing....It was very good to see how the rest of the family was doing also...Now I kin do me car stuff....bin cleaning up the back yard this week...
Had a lot of fun running the wheels of this old Cougar this past summer...Looks like total junk but ran great and had fun...I did drive it like it was stolen and you could even leave it running anywhere and it still there when ya got back Ha Ha...jist left a note fer them not to steel me dog...
So far I have pumped up to pressure over 160 tires and changed the tires on 11 rims...We have had nice weather to up at the back getting this done...I have also been working with my new camera and lens trying to get used to it and how it all performs...It is a Canon T1i and I have put on a Sigma 10-20 lens...There is a lot of different setting's and the trick is to get to all the ways to set them and what the results are...That is what these back yard pictures are the results of playing around with it...
So hope you enjoyed the pictures of whatever the heck it is I is a trying to do....Next I have to get the new frame under the better halfs Olds Convertible...
