Good point about the exhaust. Didn't catch that. From the drilled holes in the frame on the left of the exhaust pipe, I'm assuming that was from a hitch? Anyhow looks like it's finally marked sold on the dealer's website. Not to overly critique a very nice wagon or any wagons from the east coast, it did however have more surface rust underneath on the springs and rear end than what I'd expect from an original California car. Initially I thought someone should jump on it for 22500 but definitely would have needed an inspection and road test first. If all of a sudden you had some problems with the body or power train, you'd be in the high 20's quick especially with shipping, tax and license.

Pipe under the axle is correct for clams. Look it up in the parts books. Also, at least early cars should exit on drivers side.

74WagExh4.JPG 74WagExh3.JPG 74WagExh1.JPG I stand corrected. I looked at pictures of my somewhat original dual exhaust and they are both under the axle but connect and go out the drivers side. I assume because of the spare tire well. I've posted these before. Guess the pipes could be replaced soon! However I might sell it first.

That’s how they were done from the factory.

There's no clearance above the axle on a glide-away wagon due to the forward facing rear seat. People have claimed they can fit it, but it's extremely cramped and you'd be hard pressed to make it fit without bumping into the floor or cooking the carpet in that area.

These cars came FACTORY with the exhaust UNDER the rear axle on the pass side.

    Thanks for the info.

Wonder why the exhaust exited on the driver side?

I'm guessing because the spare tire well was too low on the passenger side. Also couldn't put it straight out the back or else the exhaust would get sucked into the rear window.

Correct. Spare tire well is in the way, factory dual exhaust and single exhaust both exited the driver's side behind the wheel.

    Agreed!

We have seen GM clamshells selling for a bit higher than this, but this Buick is one the very best we have run across in the last several years. It has the rarely seen velour upholstery option. About the only factory option it appears to lack is cornering lamps.

Yeah I was corrected on that on post #22 almost a year ago. Now I know. I just would never have thought it was done that way, but I never owned a 71-76 GM B-Body wagon either.
