I always find useless junk I just have to buy when I go to a flea market. I gave $15 for all 3 pieces.
Strange color for a gas can; I thought green's for kerosene? But the oil and pour spout are good scores.
The can doesn't say gas on it, it just says Galvanized Can and has the warning of being flammable and containing petroleum based liquid. I am just assuming it is from the '80's but it has nice color and writing on it which make it a nice display piece. I have a case with double glass doors hanging on the wall in the garage with some oil cans and other car advertisement and auto memorabilia. This should fit right in with it. This is one of my other favorite pieces, it's not rare but neat advertising piece.
That is neat. And I had assumed the can said 'gasoline' because I couldn't see the 'L' in 'galvanized.' However, you will not believe what website I just found: http://www.absorbentsonline.com/eagle-safety-cans.htm
According to Frank on American Pickers those three pieces are worth $150 and your dollar bill is worth 35 cents.
I also scored 2 double sided light up tire signs back in December. One Michelin and a Good Year sign when we got new signs for the waiting room at work I was told I could have the old signs. They are about 36" long x 12" high. I need to get them hung up one day. If one day ever catches up to me, I'll be in trouble!
