Hello Folks.....I'm glad I found this forum. I'm an old street rodder who has FINALLY acquired a 1958 Chevrolet Brookwood to build and add to my collection. I drive all my cars, and I'm very hopeful of building this Brookwood into my daily driver. It has the original 348, and I plan to perform an immediate disc brake upgrade on the car, probably completly rewire it with Ron francis wiring setup, and install an air bag suspension system right out of the bag. Looking forward to lots of help here.
Welcome aboard! You'll find lots of company for that fine wagon. I want to watch that Airbag upgrade. That sounds like a real challenge.
Thanks for the welcome folks.......I be in South Charleston.....yes, thats an actual city...we have our own Mayor and everything !! (across the river from Charleston)
Ahhhhhhhhh.....the Home town of Kathy Matea !!!! And your dad was a "Dot" !!! Greatest high school nick name in history !!
My PERSONAL opinion is that the '58 Chebby was as close to full CUSTOM as any manufacturer ever came. I've still got to decide on the complete build plan, but I'm anxious to start.
k.....background,,,,Im the Ford/Merc guy....dont care for GM's but............i just bought a 58 Yeoman the other day......again !!! I just sold one a year or 2 ago...now i gotta another... in side
OUTSTANDING !!! I found a couple of Yeoman during may Brookwood Quest, would have bought one if I had found one in good enough shape. I'm sort of an 'oddity' in the Street Rodding circles, I built a GM car and a FORD truck....typically it's the reverse.....guys build the Ford cars and the Chevy trucks......but I love 'em all.
