Later we stopped by the Greenway to check out the Yakima River, which has been approaching flood level the last few days. While we were there I spotted this late 80's - early 90's Taurus.

That's a FORD or Merc Fox platform wagon. Kind of hard to tell, but I'd put my money on it being FORD.

Just LTD. Ford stopped making the LTD II in 1979.

I could swear the Fox wagons got the LTD II name in '83, at least for a year or two, to differentiate them from the full-sized LTDs.

No. The full size car was referred to as the LTD Crown Victoria to differentiate it from the fox body vehicle. Excellent naming convention. Luckily every parts catalog is hip to all the slight name change nuances and you never see full size parts listed under the intermediate car.

    Nice. I'd say it's a Mercury.

Mercury Marquis. Not to be confused with the Mercury Grand Marquis.
