Chicago detectives William Murphy, left, and Owen D. Kennelly practiced springing from a moving squad car with riot and machine guns in July 1939. They were preparing for the Police and Fire Thrill Show at Soldiers' Field. Tribune archive photo published July 10, 1939.. Vintage Chicago Police
I always liked this shot of a Michigan State Police Fury, at Speed with the shotgun Radar out the window, there is even what looks to be a 73-77 Buick Century Wagon in it. Notice the front and rear Bumper Fillers are not painted Michigan State Police Blue.
Yeah the fillers were silver (argent) same on Ford quite often when they painted the car a non factory color. I always like that blue.
My Favorite Vintage Police car, not a CHIP car but definitly some where in Southern California. It is a 1960 Catalina Freeway Enforcer, Suposedly with a SD 389 Notice the T shaped Roll Bar
Interior shot showing the odd roll bar required by the X Frame, and the certified Speedo mounted on the dash.
