New to cars. Whenever I have bought motorcycles in the past I get a shop manual that is year and make specific. Seems my search is a year range and many different models but I haven’t found anything specifc to my wagon.

I’m looking for a 1983 Caprice Estate Wagon manual. I have found a Caprice and (other Chevy cars) manual with a year range but nothing specific to the wagon.

Can someone give me a little education on this so I can get the right manual.
    Thanks in advance

Sometimes the manual will cover all the models of a specific car or cars. Did you thumb through the Caprice manual ,there may have been some wagon specific info hidden within?.....Longroofs Rule!

Ok, I wasn’t sure. I didn’t thumb through anything I was looking online to order. Is there a quality maker of manuals or should I be looking for an OEM manual?
    Thank you

I would look for an OEM manual, year and brand specific. So a 1983 Full Size Chevy Manual should give you everything but specific part overhaul instructions.

I'll agree with the above. The factory service manual is the way to go. I usually find them on Ebay for a reasonable price. It looks like the 1983 manual covers most of the rear wheel drive cars for that year. There is also a Fisher body manual. I think GM also has an electrical troubleshooting manual for that year.

Holy cow thank you for linking all those! I’ll get the regular manual first and hold out on the others. I’ll be too broke to fix things if I buy them all at once haha

Search around. You can probably find better prices. Those just happened to be the first auctions I came across for each manual.
