This photo was taken in August of 1937 by an unknown photographer of the Amity Hall, located in the Pennsylvania town it is named after. The town is situated about 15 miles northwest of Harrisburg, Pa on Route 22 and the “Men’s Hall” sited there contained a Washroom, Dormitory, and Barber Shop.
All of the cars on the auto hauling trailers are Mopar, most appear to be Dodges, but some may be Plymouths. At least one of the trailers was pulled by a Dodge tractor. It would appear they were on their way to a Dodge distributor or dealers.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has done something embarrassing with a trailer.
There's got to be a story behind this. I wonder what it is.

 

Read the caption at bottom. Funny 'Dad as Naval Officer' story...when he was in Vietnam in '68, his Seabee unit had gear and supplies to move North (I forget where), so he contacted the Army, and got them to include his truck in a convoy. The convoy route took them over Hai Van Pass, and as they went over, Dad's truck trailer high-spotted the landing gear at the summit of the pass! With Army officers going nuts over the convoy getting halted, Dad calmly walked up to the truck behind his, and asked for a push.
