    Hello y'all!

I am working on a '55 1st edition panel truck as a project that I will eventually use to sell goods out of each side. I want to put a tailgate with glass on each side between the front door and back fender.

I would need a tailgate less than 48" wide and that has a roll down window. The make and model doesn't matter as long as it fits measurements and I can find 2; I am not well versed in station wagon measurements and models that could fit my requirements and hoped I could find what I am looking for on this forum.

Thank you for welcoming me any help you can provide.

    Eric

Welcome aboard Eric. Sounds like an interesting rig you have there. Got any photos of it? Might help us understand what you're after.

That's a nice solid looking rig you have there. Looks like a long chassis, must be a 3/4 or 1-ton model.

It is a 1-t0n. Any suggestions on what type of tailgate I should be looking for that is less than 48" and has roll up window? Thank you for the help!

The tailgate on my '63 Ford Country Sedan is 39 inches from bottom edge to top of the window frame, I just checked. So that would fit your requirement. The problem with it is that it is slanted inward, and there is no way it would fit your sides without serious modification. I don't even know if it's possible to modify it that much. Looking at your rig I would almost say a late 70's early 80's Caprice style gate, more the boxy versions that earlier or recent, would be your best bet? That's just a wild-assed guess though. Sorry I couldn't help further.
