    It denotes the 'Escape' key, so I'd think that's what you'd want to do with a nicely-appointed Eldo--escape the grind.

    Officially ESC was for "Eldorado Sport Coupe."

    As opposed to the higher-level ETC for "Eldorado Touring Coupe."

    Both acronyms that lent themselves to much more pedestrian meanings.

    Doesn't much matter now, as the Eldo nameplate has been dead for nearly 20 years.
