Yes. Vote early, vote often. Also if you’re dead you get to vote. Hopefully for Joe if they vote like they do in New Mexico, they’ll keep finding boxes of uncounted ballots in the toilet room till you get enough to win.

I'm surprised nobody asked yet - "What Mercury?" I'm happy it found a good home Bill.

I’ve already delivered it to my body guy who is going to roll out the small dents in the driver/passenger doors, ordered new whitewalls, tires are from 1998. And will detail it when I get it back.

    What's the story?
I've been gone since July 3; just saw the post.

Wow. I took a look at all the other entrants, and I think an orange Microbus has the lead with 1100 votes, then a pair of motorcycles at just under a thou, a Chevelle with 700+, and then a whole bunch between 200 and 600. The tail-end Charlie is a blue late-model Viper with zero votes. Every other car at the bottom has at least one vote.

Well, I love Panther body Grand Marquis. Bill Moparfomco man called me out of the blue and told me about a ‘90 on a local auction site here in Albuquerque. The car was from an estate of an elderly couple. The car is a one owner with 48,000 miles. The auction company goofed on the auction and closed it early with zero bids on the car. I called them, and was able to buy it for the opening bid of $1,100 with a 10% buyers premium. Sure it’s the real deal the old gal had their check for $19,563 attached to the tittle and original registration form. There are a couple of old people bumps to it, no broken paint. It will also need a new set of tires. 3 from 1998, and one from 2000. The car is Pastel Metallic

The old gal sounds kinky. I've never seen one or a set of them yet

Dear Poison. Again I think given your general proclivity to dive right to the gutter, I think you may be putting to much into the phrase “Old people bumps”. In this case these are blemishes to the car. Old people bumps should not be misconstrued in this case for any type of activity, sexual or otherwise, nor any age related growths or other unusual fatty gatherings on the body. I hope I have clarified what my meaning, and intent was in the statement “Old people bumps”. Thank you. Lol

    Joe:

Please let us know how you fare on this. There's some ug-ly cars you're going up against!

Looking at some of the competition I'm like "Surely, you can't be serious?"

And the VW Bus - how the heck did that guy get that many votes? Probably some computer savvy guy figured out a way around the one daily vote maximum.

    Hoping that you win!

I like to think of myself as somewhat street smart and such and to some extent, knowledgeable with things - but I have no idea WTF you guys are talking about here!

This is an awesome thread - I hope it doesn't get hijacked!

I'm sure the Patchouli Brigade welled up from whatever Love-In they were partaking of to bump that Jesus Jalopy waaaay out into First Place.

No sir. I think it will turn out to be a worthwhile purchase. P S. That vote counter is pretty smart I tried voting in 18 hour increments. It wouldn’t tabulate my vote. But I’m still plugging away.

We trailered the Caballero to the Buick Club of America National meet in Midwest City, OK in June.

I didn't take many photos, but the car earned "Senior Gold" status in the judging process, meaning that it achieved more than 390 out of a possible 400 point score.

There were a few 58s at the event, but I really enjoyed comparing my car to another 58 Caballero:

The car had many subtle modifications...and some not so subtle.

Cool paint; the upper body is gloss gray while the lower is matte gray. Beautiful wheels (IMO), lowered, 4 wheel disc brakes, custom leather interior, side exit exhaust (outlets in the rockers, just ahead of the rear wheel openings), Limited bumper ends replaced the Special/Century style, lots more.
It was fun getting them together for pics.
