have you seen the roadster shop chassis for the 59. it may give you some more ideas

 

I checked it out pretty cool stuff! I like the idea of not having the X Frame and moving to a more prelimiter style. Because of the floor pan I will do a hybrid of the original frame and include triangulation to the rear off the original frame.

 

Found a better way to adjust the suspension as build out the frame around a Corvette C4 rear unit with air ride. This makes it a little easier and safer to raise the tires into the wheel wells, simulating the air out. I can now configure preferred ride height and max ride height. If you look at previous pictures I would manually set the heights with steel post and balance it. I use ratchet straps for safety.
