I was looking back over this thread and I re-read your original post. I can't believe you only paid $500 for this car.
It sure has come a long way since 2013.

Thanks! I really got lucky on this one. The lot I picked it up from was some kind of charitable donation lot. I actually missed out on it and it was sold to someone else. Then a couple of months later it was back with a fresh crease in the quarter panel, the usual 3.8 head gasket problems. That’s when I got it for $500.

Pretty awesome. I bet the folks that sold it would have never guessed it would become a Mustang in station wagon's clothing.
    It's quite the transformation.

Thanks! I might try a sedan version or fairmont. Maybe even T-bird or cougar. The Ford fox chassis from the 80’s makes the Daddywagon possible without the need for any real fabrication. I wasn’t the first nor will I be the last.

Everyone disses the T-bird and Cougar; I'd like to see a Modular-powered luxo-cruiser one using an SN-95 drivetrain.

The Coyote 5.0 is swapped into a Fairmont already...I just saw a pic somewhere, but those are also Modular V8s. I'd like to see a Mk VIII DOHC 4.6L in a T-bird or Cougar, simply to show that a drivetrain can be recycled. Those Coyotes are expensive. Also, does anyone make a front-sump pan setup for Modular engines, to go in older cars, such as my beloved Babe the Blue Ox?

It'd be nice if you had a cellphone with an MPH app, so we could see how fast you were going.

Haha! Yeah! I am not going all that fast. It pulls well. When I’m on the highway it will pull in top gear nicely too. That vid was just an exercise in torque. Spin the tires and accelerate to maybe 50 and then slow down. It’s just fun to spin both rear tires in a station wagon!

I haven’t been here in a while. The Daddywagon isn’t quite the showpiece I would like it to be. Nonetheless I took it to Ford Nationals at Carlisle, Pa. I drove it about 140 miles each way and I didn’t baby the car either.

How was everyone's response to it?

When I first read that sentence I thought you said you drove it 140 miles per hour! And my first thought was "I bet he did"

Haha! Well I gotta say I think I had it over a buck in some instances. That being said I have acquired the means to help slow this car down.
