This longroof is literally in my back yard! (well sort of about 25 miles away) Looks to be a nice wagon. I'm also working on a project one block from the Pierce Arrow building. What a coincidence! Anyone interested in this wagon I could look at it for you?....Longroofs Rule!
Odd to see a 2-seat wagon with the rear vent windows, I know they were optional on a 2-seater, but I do not think I have seen one equipped that way before. Pretty low option, no A/C, power windows, locks or seats. It looks like the 73 version of my old 77 Century wagon. Same colors, same lack of a passenger side rear view Mirror, they both lack roof racks even, But this one has the Buick rally wheels, and a rear air deflector to set it apart. My car was a 350 4bbl, but I don't think they made the 2bbl version in later years. Mine had A/C and an AM/FM Radio, but only the single front dash speaker. Base model Buick & Olds's are a strange concept to me. I know I am thinking 40 years after they were made, but you would think they would equip them with more standard features than a Chevy or Pontiac to justify the price difference.
Oh yeah. Mrs. Kojack. Obviously a small family, maybe no Kojack kids. 6 passenger and all. Plus with his habit of little cigars, tootsie pops, and $500 suits, no money left, even on a Lt’s pay for a loaded up Estate Wagon. So Mrs. K gets the Century wagon with very few ups and extras. He probably got them to throw in the rally wheels cause he hated the dog dish on his sedan. Gave her the wagon for her birthday. The card with the keys in it said “Who loves ya Baby”. She said under her breath, Not you ya bald B@$+@rd. No AC, really Theo?
No Kojak kids, maybe. But, if there were to be any, their heads would have likely been formed bullet-shaped
"The listing you're looking for (1973 Buick Century Luxus) has ended. We found something similar: 1957 Buick Century Caballero." https://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-Buick-Century-Caballero-/333222616312?oid=133069193192 Well, it's a Buick and it's a Century and it's a Wagon. Not too shabby of a job finding it, eBay but wrong decade.
Pebbles and Bam Bam could be harnessed here, for a little more horsepower. Otherwise, the irony of calling it an Estate fits the picture. It looks like a one-owner, being that it's absolutely un"molested" and whoever inherited it has left it to rot in some barn in the vicinity of Del Ray Beach, since 1965, where salty air has taken its toll. It'll certainly be a body-off-frame restauration. But, since it's a hardtop, it'll be well worth the trouble
