We'll see if that holds. If so, that is pretty much the highest price we have ever seen on the forum for a GM clamshell. Never has gone above $20k before so far as I know.

Yes and for anyone selling a clamshell on this auction site or eBay etc., make sure to post videos of the tailgate going up and down. A lot of comments on the auction about being mesmerized by the tailgate.

Video had over 500 views in one week. Hopefully the market is recognizing the clams. This one had a lot going for it; all original, low miles, well optioned, and good documentation.

Still a bit skeptical. That price is off the charts. We'll see it reappears.

I agree with jwdtenn. Price just too far from the norm.

I'm going to guess it's probably sold at 36K. Guessing this because the winning bidder's name was "lajolla" dude. La Jolla ( said as La Hoya ), California has some of the highest real estate values in the country and is very affluent. So of the bidder's name matches where they live, then 36K isn't much for that part of the country. Not sure what they expect for 36K, it's a beautiful wagon, but still it's not going be up to the standard set of wheels roaming around La Jolla! Definitely some ego there insisting on winning that wagon vs. what other cars you can get for 36K.

Well even in La Jolla, he’s probably gonna get some whispers behind his back. 36k is a lot of money for that car. You’re right that he’s most likely a guy without cares money wise. And, that may have been a car (type) he grew up with. I hope when I sell my 30,000 mile original car there’s a guy in Lo Jolla that grew up with one, and has to have it. Lol

Yes for those of us with a clamshell or two, we missed our chance with La Jolla dude! Mind you my cars aren't anywhere near the condition of that Pontiac. But still I'd take a third or less of that winning amount for my wagon!

I still have my doubts. That is a plus-premium price.
