The calipers. They look too cool. You'll have peer pressure problems, if you're going to cover them up with stock wheels. The temptation to go out and get custom wheels will be too great :thumbs2:

HAHA I think that is a good problem to have! I have been eyeing some custom wheels, maybe this will be my push to get them. ;-)

I got them installed, I am still working on making & running the brake lines. Now I just need to find some new wheels that will fit. :)

Here are some photo's, thanks Everyone!

Very nice! I'm sure you'll be pleased with this set up. I just got my disc brake kit as well. can't wait to get them installed.

Great update for your 63. That body style can take a lot of aftermarket wheels that will show those calipers. -

I agree that you don't need disc on the rear. But disc on the front make all the difference in the world. My wagon has Corvette disc brakes and they are so good that I am currently putting disc brakes on my 62 Vette. I had been hardheaded about keeping my Vette "Stock" but the wagon convinced me that the deviation from stock to disc brakes is worth it. All totaled, I'll spend just shy of $800 to do the job. I bought a kit.

All totalled is what might happen if you had stuck with drums. If the car's not concourse, make the change, but keep all the removed parts, just in case a buyer is looking to restore it.

    :rofl2:

Front discs are great and I agree that you don't need to swap out the rear drums.
On a related note, I just dropped my wagon off this morning to have discs installed on the rear. It seems that after I had the front done the excellent new booster proved to much for the old parts out back and now the rear brakes are leaking. I decided if I need to do the rear brakes, might as well upgrade.

Just remember, the pedal feel on 4-wheel discs is different. Toodle around in a parking lot so you can get used to it before you head out. As a mechanic, I've driven many cars and trucks with 4-wheel disc brakes, and each one's got their own feel.

My wagon has an adjustable valve on the rear brake line. It has a thumb wheel on it to reduce the pressure to the back brakes.

Same here. It was installed with the front discs. I'm sure it will take some getting used to with discs all around, but that's how it is with anything new. I'm looking forward to it.
