"Hello" from central Minnesota. I'm glad to be here!

    Oh BOY
, am I glad to be here!

When I turned 16, (in 1976) my folk gave me their 1969 Ford Country Squire for my first car. I loved that rusty old thing. I also loved the '76 LTD Country Squire they bought to replace the one they gave me. I was hooked. Since then, I've had several Ford wagons. Bummer was...I never had a really nice wagon.

    UNTIL NOW!

I'm nearly 60, so I decided it was time for me to at least have this small dream come true, so I bought this 1977 LTD Country Squire on eBay. It will arrive early next week. My grown children and my friends have always thought I was nuts, pointing out station wagons on TV and on the road and what-not. Now they say they can't wait to go for a ride!

Nice to meetcha, @wagoninsane ! Your name fits me, as well, according to my family and friends!

I have 2 pics of it coming out of the barn...kinda cool. Being new to forums, I thought I should wait to post much until I actually have the wagon. Then I'll start a proper thread with pictures and questions.

After I bought it, I was looking around and found this group. Lo and behold, there was a thread here about MY car!

    Sorry...what's a Longfooc?

Sorry that's a typo. It's supposed to be Longroofs Rule! It took me three weeks to get my wagon home from St. Louis! It was a tense few weeks. Hope you enjoy your new found wagon when you finally get yours home.....Longroofs Rule!

What color was the folks ‘69 and ‘76 Squire? We had a cream ‘70 and Cream ‘76. Also had a red ‘72 in between.

The '69 was red and the '76 was brown. It was a beauty. My brother had a wreck with it when it only had 200 miles on it. Nothing too serious, though.

I had a '72 also. I never liked it, though. I had a '70 and a '74, too. I totaled the '74 two weeks after I bought it, but you shoulda seen the other guy!

Nice. We had some issues with our ‘76 and traded it off on a Cream ‘78 Colony Park. I remember the folks had a ‘74 LTD in that silver blue color. I really liked ‘70’s Fords/Mercury’s I think I may have mentioned on a previous thread, I’ve got a ‘78 LTD wagon in your same Light Jade metallic, with the same dark Jade duraweave interior. I love that color. Certainly not as loaded as yours.

Welcome aboard, that is a mighty fine looking wagon you have there. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of it once it arrives home in the land of 10,000 lakes.
