I had that drivetrain, in my Opel GT. If you don't abuse it, you'll never need the spares. Just change the gearbox oil and that's that.
If you can still get gaskets, the original Solex carburetor shouldn't need more, if it's only varnished from sitting and the float isn't corroded through. That's the same bolt pattern which will accept a Weber or Motorcraft type. That's what I did, back then, because I didn't feel like dealing with the complicated Solex

Dual engines. That thing should be fast! Looks like it’s got half of Kingman’s sand under the hood on on the dash and seats. People sure don’t go out of their way to make things even remotely appealing do they?

Like women around my age, around here. Well, men also. But, that's the women around my age's problem, if they're not into Cougaring

As long as it has the carb'd engine, and not the one year only (in the states as 1974 was the last year they were imported) FI engine it might not be a bad little car. Or Swap in a 5.3 LS and have fun.

When's the last time you saw vent windows on any '78 car?

FoMoCo had them available as power mini vents through ‘78 - ‘89 on Lincoln. Ford/Mercury got the optional vent wing window through ‘91
