When booting up the laptop this afternoon this was one of the items scrolling on MSN today. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/autos/auto...od/ss-BBVNxTX?li=AAggNb9&ocid=UE01DHP#image=4 I wondered if anyone might have seen or new any of these wagons. #8 looks very familiar to me but I have never seen that particular wagon in person.
I own #10, a 1985 300TD. What I would love to find is a 1965 Dodge wagon, white with the blue interior and 426 wedge under the hood like the one my father had, damn that beast could haul ass.
I must have missed out on when the '91-'96 B-Body wagons got the 300hp LT1 engine. Must be pretty rare. I'll take any year '86-'07 Taurus/Sable wagon to drive.
Ivy, that's a late '90s Mercury Sable. My brother had a loaded '93 Sable, but he couldn't make his obligations and filed bankruptcy before the laws were changed; since the creditor never had a representative show up in court on his day, he could've forced them to surrender the title, or shown the state the court paperwork and petitioned the state to vacate that title and issue another one, but no, he couldn't be bothered. Tried to pawn it off onto me, and I could not do a damned thing with it because he was the only one who legally could.
Before I was born, since Mom and Dad had four kids, Dad traded in his '54 Merc for a '56 Country Sedan 2-door wagon. By the time I was 2 and we were leaving Pennsylvania for Portland, OR, Dad had given the car to a high-school-age neighbor who was taking Ag Tech in school, as the car was too rusted to pass inspection, and Dad figured the boy could practice repairs on the car. I just wish that Dad had had it shipped to Portland so we'd have it here, as that time (1968) there was no inspection from out-of-state for registration.
When I was young 10 to 12 years old Dad had an Opel Kadett wagon. not sure of the year and no picture from back then. But we did a lot of vacations in it and a lot of drive in movies at the Redondo Beach drive-in in So Cal. Got this off the internet. Ours was a light blue or blueish green.
Sarcasm? Yeah, they don't exist according to Automobile-Catalog. The LT1 had 260 HP and 335 Torque for 94 - 96 models.
He had it for any length of time, only because it was at home in southern California. In the Rust Belt, those disappeared fast, unless they were garaged in Winter. I miss owning a car of which one could easily repair oneself and keep going, when a spare belt, points and condenser were kept on board. I love that Opel's simplicity, being that the lack of options made it even more reliable and kept the weight down. However, without roll-down rear passenger windows and tinted glass, it must have been unpleasant to vacation in it on sunny days without an air conditioner whose compressor was almost as big as the engine itself
Okay. I thought they had those typical hinges and latches which just allows the windows to open only a couple inches
