https://www.ebay.com/itm/303101704862 Ok Yes. Does appear to be the same wagon. Bidding again appears to be way off.
http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...torino-squire-on-ebay-central-point-or.50061/ Definitely same wagon and same eBay seller, except no longer admitting the hidden headlights do not work, as in the first ad.
Well for some reason he also ditched the whitewalls and full wheel covers. Painted the wheels and added what I think are the wrong dog dish. Wouldn’t those have been the flat ones that say FoMoCo around them?
Yes, The "dog dish" hubcaps should be the ones that say Ford. Those are probably 1966 1967 Fairlane. Were the hide away head lights an option? I have seen a couple 1970 1971 Torino Squires without them.
Hideaway headlights were optional on '70 & '71 Torino wagons, both the "plain" version and the Squire plus various hardtops, sedans, and "sportsroof" models in the Torino line. The only Torino on which they were standard equipment was the '70 Brougham subseries. The car looks nice, but I can't fathom that anyone would actually be willing to pay $17K for it (or put a reserve higher than that on it).
Did this car not sell for $9,200 last time? So he did replace the di-Noc got rid of the red reflector add on on the drivers door panel (2 good things). Replaced the stock wheel covers with incorrect dog dish - maybe not a good thing. But he also scrapped off that wonderful California inspection sticker from 1971. That to me was a dumb thing, and he didn’t seem to fix the small rip in the drivers seat. Agree with jwdtenn. The bidding on this car is crazy stupid as I’ve heard kids say today. I don’t see $8,000 in improvements to this car. I think like the guy in Florida, and our buddy in Palm Springs IMHO, I smell some phantom bids here.
Not believing eBay at all. Talk about fake news. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Ford-Torino-SQUIRE/303101704862?hash=item469244fa9e
Bill, I believe you should respectfully refer to the guy from Palm springs as Mr. Ding Dong! After all, he is well known around these forums as such!!!! I think this car is nice, but not what he is asking for......
BIN dropped to $19,500 obo. In previous auction, car bid to $18,200 -- reserve not met. BIN at that time was $21,500. It was a 9 day auction and reached the $18,200 in about 48 hours. Couldn't bridge the last $3,300 over the next 7 days. Not accusing, but like others on this thread I can't help being suspicious of the legitimacy of the bids that went so high so early, but still stopped short of the reserve. Also, if he hasn't fixed the hideaways since the very first auction, and doesn't mention it in the subsequent ones, what does that say about the seller?
