Sup guys my name is Ronnie and Im a big BOP head. (Buick Olds Pontaic) but Buick 1st. Im just a regular guy who is getting started in life with a young family and my 1st house. I used to live in south central LA but I moved out and never looked back. My wife after my first born was born told me "i think you deserve another Buick" a week later I brought my wagon home. A 1963 Lesabre wagon. Originally was a 401 nailhead but it came with a sbb300 out of the car. I sold the short block and got a big block Oldsmobile 425 with a switch pitch th400. No work has been done to it because the baby and the house and im still setting up my garage/shed. I also got a 65 skylark and a 55 clipper. Both projects and both HT coupes. Im glad to have found this forum. I hope you guys can help me along the build. Ronnie
Welcome aboard Ronnie! Sounds like you have some neat cars. I remember the days of having a new born and a new house. It may be a slow process, but it will be a fun one, especially if you can involve your kid. Once you get started you should begin a thread in the projects section: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/forums/station-wagon-projects.32/ Once again, welcome, keep us posted.
Hey Ronnie! From the East coast to the West coast what's-up? Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay, there are lots of informative people around on here so if you need something just ask I'm sure someone can assist you. Your Longroof sure looks to be a great solid platform to start from. I am a BOP also with Olds being my first choice. I have a 65 custom vista cruiser, love it! What direction are you planning to go on your wagon? Again welcome to the forums, Deane....Longroofs Rule!
Welcome aboard, Ronnie. Looks like a nice, solid, straight, dry body. Thanks for sharing the pics. Keep us updated on your progress. It should make a cool driver. What shape is the Skylark and Clipper in ?
Agreeable, until 1965. From then on, for me, Olds rules, while Buick was still nailheading That a boy. All that's missing now is a pair of Riviera or Wildcat bucket seats and a floorshift console. Eager to see you make it happen. Bienvenido
EXCELLENT PICTURE Congratulations with everything, the move, the baby and your wagon. Your wife must be a bit of a car guy too, great to have entire family in on the wagon train. Really glad you found us and joined the group.
Deane, my direction on this wagon will be something I can take the family out on long trips. I went for the big block for pulling power becasue i have a small boat and one day I will get a small travel trailer Lord willing. The wagon came with AC so ill be keeping that. One day I would like a gear vendors unit. Cam the 425 with a edelbrock performer intake.
The Skylark is in good condtion. The interior is red vinal and just needs some scrubbing, the seller had a sbc350 th400 but i convinced him to remove it to reduce the price. I have a Buick 430 and th400 going in that. Moter and trans are in my workshop. Has bucket seats too. The clipper is on the back burner, has good bones and missing the distributor, linkage to trans, some exterior script and you guessed it those 55 Packard taillight that are 2nd to the 56 famous Packard tail lights that are very well sought after and can cost a pretty penny. These cars are still in my moms backyard and still need to be towed to mine
Gracias, I like your bucket seats and floorshifter idea. Glad to know there are more BOP guys out there.
Thanks I appriciate it. My wifes Grandfather was a Buick man himself and she is very understanding about my hobby. I am very loyal and put her in a high place so she know to give me my "garage time"
