Nicely done, but I would have left the wing off the roof and not used Corvette wheels. It reminds me a little of this 4 speed 69 Olds wagon that came to our local cruise in a couple times last year.
It's a Hurst/Olds look, it has whatever the guy liked on it otherwise, not a faithful clone of a real '69 Hurst/Olds in wagon form but very nice. I agree that the wing does look ridiculous, the factory air deflector would of looked much better, the stripe should of ended on the roof too. The '69 H/O "mailbox" hood scoops weren't painted gold either, the guy probably liked that look better. It looks a lot like the Hurst/Olds Vista Cruiser 1972 Indy 500 pace/official cars that Hurst did up. That's about as close to a real Hurst/Olds wagon as you're going to get. They're all gone except for the medical director's car as far as I know. I hope another one turns up someday... and that I'm the one to find it.
The wing, The valve cover wing nuts and the Corvette wheels and spinners really need to go. Other than that, a pretty good job.
You're photo isn't showing, but I assume you're talking about the gold one. That's owned by a member of our OCA chapter. His dad bought it new and it's a factory 4spd wagon. Owen swapped the original 350 for a 455, however.
What also "frequently happens around here" is the continual posting in even older threads: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/threads/wagons-in-vintage-street-scenes.7569/ http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...p-the-thread-going.14852/page-302#post-446851 Just because people lose interest in or get lazy on threads like these doesen't neccessarily mean that these kind of threads are in any way inferior. We should instead be encouraging wagons of this caliber to get built. It's not every day that someone takes the trouble to clone a 4-4-5, G.T.O or Skylark GS for us. There was some embedding problem with the original video upload. Now, we have a reliable version
