I too have the L99 in my ex-cop car. It's a great engine.
Nice and roomy! Lots of space for people wearing giant parkas, and enough room in the trunk for a body or three.
Get some Auto-rx and run a cycle or two.

And some Lucas Upper Cylinder lubricant to clean the top end and the injectors.
The guys are very knowledgeable and the forum is quite nice over here:

Sorry about the carnage across the street (espescially to the stick man), the jackass across the street (ya know, the one driving prop. value down with al the trash in the front yard) decided to run an olds CC in last weeks derby. had i known he even was considering it....id have tried to trade him the corolla!

anyway....here is the caprice...the wheels are shiny because i just rattle-canned 'em

Yikes, why did your neighbor even bring the wagon back home with him? Now, there's a restoration process and a 1/2!! Do you know how he did at the derby. I hope he won; I'd hate to think we lost another Olds wagon in vein.

Neighbor definetely lost. look how the back end is pushed into the ground. From my reading on the derby site (never did one myself), they put notches in the frame so the back end rolls up not into the ground. So your neighbor o_Oisn't even a decent derbier.
