Or convert to fully electrical! Plenty space in that car and would be a show winner every time. Just glide in.

My 307 has only 40k on it but I'm thinking that gas prices won't go down so an ev-conversion will pay off in 4-5 years with current price of gas. Frankly I think gas prices might be 50% higher in 5 years time so a conversion might pay off faster.

A conversion will set you back 8-10k USD. Could be worth it just for fun.

If my car had a failing engine I wouldn't hesitate one second. A 1987 Buick Estate Wagon with an electrical motor and 40 kW battery. Nice!!!!

An example of an El Camino conversion: http://www.evalbum.com/preview.php?vid=2829

Not sure which LS engine was in the SS Trailbrazer. The LS6 was in the Corvette Z06. That's where mine came from.

Thanks for that. My LS2 Trailblazer came stock with 390HP. We immediately chipped the engine and tranny bumping it up to about 425hp.

LS6 was also in the '04-'05 CTS-V before being replaced by the LS2.

I have an LS2/T56 in my '06 CTS-V (currently for sale) and I've gotten 26mpg hwy in completely stock form. A 4.8L truck engine, single turbo, T56 tranny, and high gearing in the diff might get you there.

I would go with the LS engine and 4L65E trans as mentioned above. Lots of power and should get high 20's for mpg.

I'm around, just haven't had time to read or post much. (Assuming I'm the Bill you're referencing.)

Unless you're this Bill, I was initially referring to nothing other than the real McCoy

Some of these guys are still in the 70's. I don't know what they're smoking!
