Very nice looking Car, I also think it will sell for at or near the asking price. Most of the bench seat GS's I have seen are the 350 powered versions, while most GS455's have bucket seats.
Back when I was in high school I looked at a 70 GS 350, silver with a black top and interior bucket seats no rust. My dad said $900.00 was to much for a ten year old car.
That Buick has a lot of naughty to offer! Someone has snatched at least the AC compressor off it though. I see the AC bits on the firewall and AC is on the build sheet.
Our neighbor had a ‘72 Estate Wagon with that exact color combo down to the white vinyl top and interior. With the wood and the rally road wheels I loved that car. This GS is a nice one too. Probably will get his price.
Its not even a 455 let alone a Stage 1, but still a nice look car. I always found the 1972 rubber tail light guards kinda odd, but I could live with them, and the vinyl roof on this one. I always thought the 72's with those tail light bumpers were alittle bulky looking compared to the 71 & 70 model years. 72 71 and my favorite 197o
Yeah, those bumpers..."takes four people to install them," as jmt455 said about his '58 Buick, but I had a former friend who had a '72 2-door HT, and he replaced the bumper with my help, two tall stacks of 2X4 cribbing and a lot of yelling at each other.
The only thing which bothers me about the older bumper is the blackened-out center. If I was to own it, I'd spray it silver and have the BUICK letters copper plated. If this would fit, I'd prefer one of these, to make the car more distinguishable from contemporary Chevelles: http://car-from-uk.com/sale.php?id=105809 The crease on the side's sheetmetal makes the older Skylarks look sort of pregnant, though. This one also unjustifyably has bench seats
Agreed on all counts, at least the 68/69 GS's did not have the side trim the Skylarks & Specials have.
The reason they look bulky is the federally mandated impact strips. The 71-72 bumpers are interchangeable and pretty much look the same. 1970 bumpers are much different and require a different gas tank filler neck as the license plate is in a different location (lower). The 1968-69 bumpers will not fit any 1970-72 Buick A-body. Bucket seats were not offered on 1971-72 Buick A-body convertibles. The only way to have them factory installed is to special order a car (SCO will be on the data tag). Very few were built as SCO cars. The car in question has a lot "wrong" with it to be judged as original but would make a very nice driver. Don't discount the Buick 350. It is a much stronger runner in stock form than the other GM 350's.
