Interesting car, looks to be the real deal, I bet it was either a Detectives car or the Chief's with the low mileage, upgraded interior and almost no wear in the back set area. The front bumper looks to be pushed in on the passenger side, but overall the exterior looks to be in better shape than my 71 Enforcer's, but the interior needs more work than mine. Interesting to see what it sells for.
Wrong caps for a police car. Dog dish caps on cop cars had holes all the way around to allow heat to escape.
The "K" in the second character in the VIN, and the "K" as part of the second from the bottom row in the Vehicle Order Number (VON) (K37560), shows this as a real cop car. The "T" indicates the 440. The cop caps varied, with the '77 cars being the last to have the solid pie plates. The '78 and later cops had the holes, which had no cooling function at all. With the 440, this was a "Police Pursuit" package car. You could also spec out a 318, or even a 225 "Police Patrol" Fury during that time, too.
