    i'm glad i'm not the only one that likes the look of some of the taurii.

    i haven't ridden in one in ages so i can't speak to the ride quality.

    in looking around the net at the various 'high end' versions of the sable and taurus even those sell only marginally more than the real beaters.

    i laugh when i read in some ads ... 'only 200k' on the car.

    wow. :yahoo::yahoo:

    My boss has a 93 fully loaded Taurus wagon. He's only got about 90k on it now. The lousy Motorcraft battery that came in it only lasted 10 years. He's 6 years into the replacement. I can't believe the unreliability of batterys.....:evilsmile:

    He's got the 3.8 six in it and has had no problems...so far.

    I have owned a 1995 sable wagon with the 3.8 and have now a 1997 sable wagon with the 3.0 24 valve.
    Had no problems with the 95 it had about 250K miles on it.
    The 97 with only 200K miles the engine is on its last legs.
    The older has a softer ride and the engine revs a little les.
    The newer has a nice interior with intergrated stereo and all.
    The engines are no fun to work on.
    No room to get acses to anything.
    To chance the sparkplugs on the 24 valve you have to remove the intake.

    Not a clasic in my opinion but a nice daily driver
