Looks like the French Connection Lincoln, so yeah, I'll take it.

    White walls would help.

These are great cars, but like all of the other luxury coupes of the 70s, they have zero value. Top tier examples are worth less than $10k. If you want to get into a classic car for cheap, these are the ones to do it with. The engines respond to quite well to minor tune-ups to get rid of the smog-era tuning.

It was a Mark III in "The French Connection." Great movie. Always thought the only flaw was that after the police impounded the Lincoln and tore it apart, we were supposed to believe they could put it back together? LOL. :rofl2:

They may have been NYPD mechanics, but they were still mechanics. It's not a question of whether or not they could put it back together, it was the timing of the scenes that said they couldn't reassemble it so quickly.

And yes, you're right, it was a Mark III, but in my defense, I haven't seen the movie since the late Seventies.

As the owner of one of the luxury coupes of the '70s, all I can say is...ouch.

Give the luxury coupes of the 1970s some time. Many were very popular when new. Their day as collectors items will come, particularly as we will never see such gargantuan cars again, much less button-tufted upholstery.

You are right :thumbs2:- I always remembered it as black on black. (My parents (father) were slow to get color TV - we did not have one until 1980 - not kidding.) But it was dark brown, but very hard to tell in most scenes with the weak winter natural lighting.
