[IMG] After New year (3/1) I drove to my weld and mechanic friend Mr Bomberg. He shoved me the uni-body and we disused the rust issues (he explained me the front torsion bars, I believe this is better than springs). The wurst rust is both of the frame rails, witch has to be changed. Some body had spot welded a "band-aid" over the steel tubes , with to poor hot-dog welds... Also the outside/inside sheet metal behind the rear wheels is changed.
The left exhaust manifold had crack at one of the nuts, and had to be gas welded with
a silver rod. On Wednesday 31/1 I will pick up the Monaco from the paint shop.

Do not miss Mr Bombers D/R & Street Legal WAGOON
-sorry no you tube film -wrong URL !!?? (search " Mats Bomberg")

You're not one of those Flat Earthers. Are you?
I liked them on my Chrysler products, Volkswagen Beetle and Renault. I don't think they're inferior to coil springs. However, on the Renault, the suspension was very soft and had long travel. But, the smaller road irregularities were more noticeable. A stabilizer bar is also a form of torsion bar

Nice progress, it's always fun to find someone else's patch jobs isn't it?

Thank`s for the good kick! Yesterday I picked up my Wagon from the paint job. On Saturday me and my wagon go to another
welder friend garage to change the steel rails under the floor.
Let Me tell You, one morning retarding out from parking, the right front spring was broken and the edge of the spring was scraping the tyre.
I`m very impressed of My Monaco`s road ability. It takes road bumps MUCH smoother than my Volvo V40-01.

And of course the world is flat-- because my next car will be a Boxer 6, 911.

Your station wagon looks great with that white background. :1st:

The world really is flat on the side where you live. That way all of the water on our side has a place to run off.

Driving my old wagon around here in Virginia, I get a lot of what is it, I remember, when I was a kid kind of comments.
I can't imagine what you get in Sweden driving and old American wagon
    so what is it like?

Thank`s of your possessive comment you gave me. I need this inspiration. This is the time of year I don`t want
to look in the almanac because time rushes. In march I want to be ready. (No more Volvo)
The more good work I put in my wagon, the more soul I`ll have back.
Thank you USA for making basic cars for everyday people. with after market supplies, upgrading no problem.

Hello MAK! Loong time for your answer about Swedish attention. In general I must say Swedish people is a boring bunch.
with a few exeptions from the car enthuiasts. I don`t cruise around in town, I like much more to ride highway and country roads. Just now I`m working under my wagon scraping the bad areas of rust and body coat of the floor pans..
A Very Merry Christmas to the Orthmann Fam. from the Johansson Fam.

:dizzy: That's unusual. I've only witnessed people being retarded while attempting to park. Never yet because of having first parked
That's unusual. The only other case of people experiencing a broken torsion bar was when a gradeschool classmate told me that his father bought a brand new 1958 Chrysler product and when he arrived home, the vehicle sagged to one side, because of the broken torsion bar. He then took the car back to the dealership and bought another brand. However, I can't confirm the authenticity of this story

Well, nobody said the English language was easy; nobody said parking was easy either, especially the family wagon!
