I gave the stamped number from the axle tube to the place Im buying a ring and pinion from but the sales guy wasnt sure what rear end the car has. I know its a 10 bolt posi but is it safe to say its a 8.5" ? I just want to be sure before I order the gear thanks !!
post a photo so since you guys are so helpful, maybe someone can walk me through the process of posting a pic of my wagon by my name
Right here! http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10 You upload your pics in Member Gallery (selected when you upload) and give the set of pics a Title, like Jaime's Covered Wagon Pics
What he said.... I can never find my list of SPID codes. There is a tag inside you tailgate with about a MILLION numbers. If one of those numbers is G80, you will have a 3.08 limited slip. Otherwise probably a 2.92 open differential All rears ar 8.5"
roadmaster rear end OK, I see a G80 on the tag by the tailgate so if I have a 3.08 gear, is it worth going to a 3.73? I really dont want to jump to 4.10 / 4.11 but I wonder if Ill feel a difference going 3.08 to 3.73 Hmmmmmmmm
3.73's are the way to go, you won't be dissapointed. That's what I have in my '93, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Try these guys for parts, they will set you up with a kit. I have the torsen T2 and I like it http://clearimageautomotive.com/
