Ford set to kill slow-selling Flex by 2020

I own a 2008 Taurus X ( basically an older model Flex), a 2005 xB (It's styling doppelganger ), and have the rest of the Ford SUV fleet spread throughout the family.

Now that that's established, here is the thing:
These CARS are easy to drive, and have lots of space for what they are. The problem with the Flex is that they are expensive. Hideously expensive. If you get the cool one, it's $50k. And that kind of paper money will get you something other than a wagon version of a police car.

 

This reminds me of another recent Edsel. Namely, the Ford Scorpio sold in Europe. Sales were down, partially because of its appearance which didn't bother me. It shared many parts with the Mondeo. The main difference was that it used the traditional longitudinal drivetrain set-up with rear-driven axle. We had the Mondeo wagon, which was a pain to service. I always wanted the Scorpio, instead. Even though it was longer. Which meant parking spaces for it were more difficult to find:

 

Why is it that they make European models different than American ones? That last ford looks like a 90’s infinity. The one in the middle looks like a Saturn, and the first one looks like a Kia!

 

Which ones look better to you?

Speaking as a Wagon fan, the Flex looks OK to me but it's nowhere near what I really want in a car. I've seen a few Flexes around although I do think they're uncommon.

Huh, they actually did a decent job with the rear end and tail lights IMO. Just add some different wheels with moon hubcaps and I'd be more interested.

They sure are large enough.

The woodgrain isn't shopped but some of the front, the "hubcaps," "luggage" and emblems most definitely are. Luggage is all far too blurry compared to the rest of the picture.

 

Photoshop or not, I’d drive the wheels right off that thing!!!
