I've been working on this project for a while, one day I hope to finish it. Its a AMT '62 Chevy Belair converted into a Bubble Top wagon.

Very cool! Do you have pics of when you started on the body work?

I'll say that you've been working on that for a LOOOONNNNGGG time. That drawing is nearly 20 years old now! Published in the now defunct Plastic Fanatic magazine, it was drawn when the AMT '62 Belair bubble top model kit was released.

Later, when Lindberg introduced it's '61 Impala Bubble top I did another 4 illustrations... stealing the same trick to produce yet another sport wagon....

... this time in color for the newly formed publication "Model Cars Magazine".
Same basic idea as the first... but retaining the stock "B" pillars creating a 2-door hardtop.

But I love what you have done and straight door pillars (even angled slightly) are more logical. Your car looks great and I hope you finish it. But I would upgrade those very dated wheels to Torque Thrust II's from Pegasus.

Keep us updated on progress please. :camera::jumping:

Thanks and yes it’s been about 15 years since I built the body from your drawing and I happened to have the same wheels in the parts box. Now I'm retired I hope to finish that one and about twenty other projects I've started....

I guess it wasn't as clear as I thought it was when I posted the picture of the one on the "NNL" Table.
I didn't build that one I just took pictures of it on the table.

Don't feel too bad. We've moved a few times and misplaced a few bodies also!:mischeif:

Love to see those promos. Recently picked up a '56 Chevy 4D Hardtop in red and white.

Hi! I'm new in this site, but wanted to show a 1:25 model I've built. I saw a picture of this Douple Bubble wagon in a magazine, and started to convert a '62 Impala into this.

Nice model build that captures the real Double Bubble Wagon I got to check out this car at Detroit Autorama in 2016. It is actually a 1961 Chevy Wagon originally owned by Joe Horisk and built by Greening Auto Company.
