How unusual - I had no idea you could get column shift and split bench front seat in the final generation (1986-92) Toronado. Just $1500 for this oddball Olds. https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/classic-1990-olds-toronado/6393177681.html
I am wondering if this is what they'd call a "base model Toronado" with the bench/column shifter? Think about most of this gen Toro's you see posted here - most of them are Trofeo's and hard loaded. Heck, even back in the day, alot of them you'd see were Trofeo's.
Down to $1400. Looks like a nice driver for that price. https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/classic-1990-olds-toronado/6393177681.html
Hot dog. That is my kind of price for a car. Usually any cheap car doesn't last that long on craigslist no matter what it is. I wonder if there are unseen issues with this car? I don't think I have another cross country trip in me this year otherwise I might be interested.
Back again - got to be the same Toro with 3k more miles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Oldsmobile-Toronado-/282934271081?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
It certainly looks to be the same car. His listing sure is annoying to read, being one long paragraph. The car has a number of niggling problems. The most concerning to me is this one: I don't know how easy it is to get these clusters serviced nor find parts for them. It's one thing to not have the power antenna working. It's another thing altogether to not have the displays on the dash lighting up properly. He's got the occasional misspellings, and my favorite is this one: "Extortioner?" Was this a mafia car? Funny that he says it's a "one owner" car while the vehicle history report shows three.
The other two ownwers were themselves owned by the extortioner which qualifies it as a one owner vehicle?
Would be very worried about a failing digital instrument cluster on a soon to be 30 year old car. Won't be easy (maybe impossible) to replace.
The wiring might have to be changed for that, let alone the computer. I'd have to google it, but there is a place that services and repairs dash clusters, including electronic ones, as well as sells already-refurbished units for more common models.
Sounds like the analog cluster would be plug and play, but it also sounds like the analog clusters may have been more trouble than the digital units. I wouldn't let it deter me from buying the car if it could be had for a good price. https://oldsmobileforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13503
