Welcome a board Wixom. Good choice a 71-72 Estate Wagon (specially a 71 seems hard to find; was looking for one (love those louvres in the tail gate) for years, finally decided to buy a 72, for a nice 71 didn't show up on CL, eBay etc)
Your other car a Riviera?? What model year??

:yippee: Last month, I purchased a 72 Buick Estate Wagon off of eBay. (I would guess that many of you saw the listing.) I promise I will post some pics of it soon. It was in the Fresno area, and I had it shipped to Dallas early this month.

I feel kind of guilty, because I told cadillacbart that I couldn't see owning his beautiful wagon that he offered to sell to me, because it is green in and out...I have an aversion to green. Well guess what color the one I ended up buying is? Yep! GREEN, in and out! :footinmouth:

Bart's Buick is way too nice to alter in any big way, but not so with the one I bought. It needs paint, and interior work, and since I want to change this thing up big time, it is perfect.

I feel fortunate to have found a nice, unrusted, uncrashed example. It is complete and appears to never have been seriously abused...it's just tired, and ready for some TLC.

It am very pleased that it is a 6 passenger model, which I prefer, because I will never have anyone needing to ride back there...I don't have that many friends! ;) Actually, I remember back to a neighbor's 71 Kingswood Estate 9-pass, and how uncomfortable I found the split backseat, with the hinges and all. Just my preference...I know most people want the 9-pass.
It has PW, PL, PS, PTailgate, cruise, tilt, optional interior, but base steering wheel.
It runs pretty good, but it does need some work on the steering column, because it was vandalized it a theft attempt. That is the only bad damage...not disclosed in the listing, and only when I went to see it in person, and pay for it, did I find out about it. :banghead3: Bummer, but in the long run, not a big deal to me.

Oh well, enough for now...pics are on the way! I promise! :yippee:

Almost forgot...Thursday, I was looking under the hood at the AC compressor, and saw the scariest big black widow spider on it! :yikes:
Shiny black, quite huge, with a red hourglass on it's belly! I screamed like a little girl! I tried to spray it with Raid, but it got away...it is still lurking! I googled "Black Widow" and sure enough, it is a western states type. It hitched a ride on my wagon. Now I am totally creeped out to poke around under there. And they can live up to 5 years! And have hundreds of babies! I will probably have to call Orkin!

Don't worry too much. I have killed several here around my house, and they're really no big deal. Unless you are allergic, their bite just hurts. They say it is a bit like being stung by a wasp.

    Shiny Side Up!
