Why does this not sell now at $5000?

The '73+ cars tend to have odd followings. You don't get the performance guys because "smogger junk" and the collector value isn't exactly there yet either. With this car you'd be hard pressed to find one that's this well optioned and in decent shape for less. Any less and you start getting into rust issues and "ran when parked" type cars that ultimately need a lot more work than some people want to do.

Still not sold. I don't get it. I think it would attract a lot of interest on eBay. There's a whole lot to like here, especially at the price.

I think the biggest issue is the ad says in person cash only no shipping. I think that rules out a lot of buyers.

Don't think cash, and no shipping is the issue. 1 cash - is there another option? other than trade? guys isn't going finance this thing, 2 Shipping - since when do sellers ship cars for free?

I have bought many cars without having to be there in person, and had a shipper pick it up and deliver it. If he isn't willing to work with a shipper to pick it up then is cuts out a lot of potential buyers.

I think the color kills it... that two tone. If it were wood-grain, I would have interest in it, but no room for it. lol.

Yeah my '73 Grand Ville has those... it was part of the "Custom" interior option on the Grand Villes, not sure about how they fit in on the wagons. It also added cut-pile carpeting and lower door courtesy lights if I remember correctly.

Cash only is not unreasonable on a $5000 car, especially a desirable clamshell wagon one like this that appears to have all factory options. Don't like the paint?

    Paint it to suit. :)

I agree... if it were mine, repaint and wood-grain would be in order. :)
