1979 Ranchero w/ Cougar front

Interesting Ebay auction. I know there are some Ranchero and Cougar fans on here. Looks very clean. Not perfect (big gap at the hood and header panel), but probably just needs some adjustments. I don't care much for the wheels. But that's easy enough to fix.

I agree with everything you said, reminds me of my old 78 Ranchero GT.

 

I actually like the aesthetics of that vs the way it came from factory, something about the headlights and how it all just comes together makes it nice on the eyes.

 

See, that's the kind of facelift I want to do for Babe. I really don't like the LTD II stacked headlights; Ford should've done this design with the Ford grille style for the LTD II.

 

Oh, and that paint scheme is close to what I want to do, except metallic blue for the silver. I'll have to post a pic of the tailgate so you have a sense of what I'm talking about.

 

I like it but lose the tiny hood scoop !

 

Sort of looks like a bank director's pick-up.

 

I'd replace it with three NACA scoops in a triangle.
