Here are more pics of my build. From the start on the flatbed when I brought her home to the rolling frame. I am currently working on the body and welding in new front floors and trying out the suicide hinges on the rear doors.....I hear everyone here likes pics so here are a bunch to get everyone up to speed...Please enjoy....

    And more pics

The frame was POR-15. The brake lines are stainless and the fuel and AIR-RIDE lines are steel braided..All bushings that could be found are urethane, suspension pieces were all replaced with new pieces. The factory frame in the rear seemed a little weak so I boxed them in and boxed in the rear lower control arms. I purchased a universal AIR RIDE bag kit and installed them front and rear....

    Body and Starter Motor

Here are some pics of the body. I am replaced the drivers side quarter using a four door quarter and a little sheetmetal bangin to extend it a bit...I am working on replacing the passenger floor with a new one from Luttys Chevy in PA. I already welded in the drivers floor. IT worked out pretty good as it was for a 66 two door...By the way Dynacorn makes some really nice sheetmetal. The starter motor is just a rebuilt 350 but I do have a nice .030 400 block that will eventually go in....I do have a luggage rack that will be installed as well....Did I mention twin T3/T4 turbos, two air to water intercoolers and a Holley Stealth Ram with ACCELL Gen 6 fuel injection???? But thats later after all the dirty work..
    Enjoy the pics

Thanks for all the kudos...I to had a bunch of projects but decided to rid myself of all ( Well Most) of them and concentrate on the wagon...My progress has been kind of slow but it really picked up lately.... I plan on painting the car Hot Rod Black....I really plan to drive this car as much as possible and do not want to worry about dings and dents...I drive 100 miles round trip to work most of it freeway ..I learned how fast little chips start as I drove my HHR for about a month then started to notice the chips...BY the way has anybody used the clear front end covers??? I think its a thin vinyl..I found it on E-bay but it is really expensive and I hate to take a chance...IF anyone is interested I have a couple of back 65 sedan corners(The ones with one tailight in them and bolt on separate from the others) I would be willing to give someone for free...If they need to be shipped you just pay shipping..I dont need them and they will end up in the trash...HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE NEW YEAR......jim:cheers:

You mean those nose covers that protect the grille and front edge of the hood?

I'd go to a place that has them for high-end cars (BMW, Mercedes, etc.) or a Ford Truck dealership. A lot of the cheap ones don't let the car's surfaces dry up fast enough, and you get rust or pits. If the road dust just sits there, it scratches your finish.

One alternative is a self-adhesive clear vinyl that you apply like a pinstripe. Is that what you mean?

Yes..Thats exactly what I mean. I guess I need to make sure I get the good ones..I thought maybe there was an alternative to the $300 price tag....Thanks

Try this site. I found it with 'hood protectors' in BING.COM.

Its been awhile..So busy at work, home, family...I made the firewall flat, added new floors and started collecting more engine pcs...I picked up a 62 Impala wagon in Feb and have been working on it since..Its a little hard with both wagons in a 20X28 ft garage...The 62 is almost done and ready to drive..I used the 18 n 20's from the 66 and built a new 355 chevy with a 700 r4 trans, added power disc brakes..Still working on the 66 but very slow because of the space issue. Building a new garage this fall so hopefully work will progress more this winter...
