Real interesting. Looks like a Cadillac'ed Roadmaster wagon. Seems like nice work. $13,900 buy it now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-Cadill...ash=item1ec8de154e:g:9gYAAOSwq~tZNvVp&vxp=mtr
We've been talking about this one on a Facebook wagon group. Whoever did it must have emptied his piggy bank. MOST of the expensive work got done - the front sheet metal group (with a possible frame lengthening), the rear bumper and quarter panel / tail light details; the Cadillac instrument panel. It falls just a bit short though, IMO. No Fleetwood Brougham lower side moldings (the rear door and maybe the quarter panel would have to be modified); no Fleetwood Brougham seats, either. Still, a beautiful wagon.
I always forget the Cadilllac's of the era have longer front end sheet metal. Do you have to modify the frame?
There's some debate on that subject. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a definite answer. The background is that the B-body cars (all of them, including the wagons) were built on a 115.9" wheelbase frame. The D-body Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham ('93-'96) was built on a 121.5" wheelbase frame - 5.6" longer. I think was can all agree, by just looking at some pics for comparison, that some of that 5.6" increase went into rear seat legroom - it's obvious the rear doors on the Cadillac are longer than the other vehicles. It's my contention though, that about 1-2" of the increased wheelbase went in ahead of the front cowl. Looking at side-view photos, on the B-bodies, there seems to be about 7" between the rear of the wheel opening and the rear edge of the fender, while on the Fleetwood, there seems to be 9" or so..... If this is what it is, it makes this conversion much more complicated. You either have to lengthen the wagon frame, or somehow shorten the fenders, and hood, I would assume. Then again, I could be full of it......
Thanks for the offer! We would need measurement from the center point on the front wheel, to the front edge of the front door shell. (And not 'angled' - straight line measurement as viewed from the side of the car.)
