Low-option. I have to say that this picture is certainly worth 1000 words. Which words, I don't know, but certainly a thousand of them.
If this 1974 Impala is worth this price, this 1972 Pontiac with wood and working A/C is worth more. https://bozeman.craigslist.org/cto/6030592785.html
Got a lamp? At least I don't see a cracked windshield or dashboard from here but there's some wear through to the left of the gauges.
I owned this car about 2 years ago. It was a super clean interior car with a few minor bumps, one was a rip in the cargo area carpet and one was a minor chip on the left hand side of the dash pad. It had its original AM radio still in it, I see now someone hacked speakers into the rear panels and front door panels. They also switched the brand new dual exhaust back to a single system that is falling off. Wonder if they removed the brand new headers too. It has a couple minor rust issues, left hand dog leg, right lower fender and then some spots above both left hand doors above the drip rails. Was a really good car, it appears it's been molested severely in the last 2 years though
That exhaust sure looks funky with that tailpipe going out the wrong way, bet it scrapes on everything. $6500 isn't completely out of line if it runs well and heat and AC work. But it is pretty low option with only AC I can see as an option. Manual tailgate, 6 seat, base Catalina door panels, not even color matched belts. My '74 was optioned almost the same way as this except with a full gauge package. You'd have to really want this car to pay the asking price. This is a shame and it goes to show how quickly an older car can go to hell when it isn't taken care of and neglected or abused.
Yeah, I though this car looked familiar once I seen the Disney World rear bumper stickers. Pics on post #60 on this link - a post here from back in 2009... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...tate-wagon-finally-took-some-pics.5189/page-4 and some pics I saved of this car a few years ago, not sure how many years though - at least 2009 or earlier. Sadly the condition has declined a bit...
That's really a shame. Condition has gone down considerably. Current owner could not even be bothered to wash it.
Give a car to someone who loves it and it could last a lifetime; give a car to someone who doesn't care about it and stuff like this happens.
Yeah, it is a crying shame. I know I am one to talk, I still have not restored my '72, but I try to keep it as nice as I can. I don't think it is much worse than it was when I bought it in 2007, though the weather got to it... thankful now that I have a carport to park it under to keep a lot of the rain and sun off of it.
Unless they reinstalled the compressor and brackets and recharged the system the A/C doesn't work. When the previous owner to me had the headers installed they removed all the components but saved them.
