That's about the most well-done duct tape reupholstering job I've ever seen. Nice patterning as well.
This is one of my bucket cars. I said I wanted one of these in the worst way. Perhaps I chose my words unwisely. I don't think I see a $5500 car, here. I don't even think I see $3500. What I think I'm seeing is a car I'd have to put $10K -- or maybe more -- into to be worth about $10K. If I had big lottery money, maybe I would sink $15K into a car to buy and make it into a $10K car. However, I simply don't have the kind of finances that would allow me to do that. I very much hope that whoever ends up with this car gives it the restoration it deserves. There are dedicated 70/71 Torino fans. Maybe we can hope there's one of these who can do a good deal of the needed work him/herself, and who can appreciate the wagon version of their favorite car.
One of my bucket list cars as well. And this one has everything I'd want, hide-away headlights and the rear jump seat. The rear jump seat can be pretty hard to find in the 70-71 Torinos. And complete hide-away grille and headlight assemblies can fetch big bucks. A little bit less money, and I know a guy who would probably buy this car just for the hide-aways.
No pics of the hide-aways in the closed position so,I hate to assume, but in this case.I would assume they don't work.
