Hi! I'm a new guy to the wagons forum, but I'm on quite a few others, so it's only right to introduce myself. I've been a wagon lover for years. I only wish that there were more new wagons available than there are today. I currently daily drive a 1972 Datsun 510 wagon. This is my 4th wagon and 2nd Datsun wagon. I don't have pics of the old ones, not having had a digital camera at the time, but here's some history. I had a 1977 Buick Skylark wagon in the 90's, followed by a 1980 Malibu wagon. There were some rough years where I didn't have one, but then I found a great little '71 510 that I drove for a few years until it had an accident on the back of a pickup. So here's my current wagon... I have a long list of things that have been done to it, but here's the basics: 1.8L 4-cyl (stock 1.6) 5-speed manual (stock auto) 15" wheels (stock 13")
I've seen a lot of those for sale recently on Craig's List - anywhere from $500 for a beater, on up to one guy asking $8K or so. I see you have wheels from a 280ZX. What other popular mods are there for those 510's?
about 2/3 of this car is from a 280zx... Front brakes and struts alternator starter transmission Lots of these have late model engine transplants either from JDM vehicles or US 240sx. Mine's pretty low key...
Welcome to the Wagon Museum. Those were a great wagon, from way back in 1965. Datsun were right to hang on to that design for so long.
