    Hi All,
Since I've been posting for a few days I figured I'd better at least say hi!

I'm Russ, I've been a Wagon guy all my life (Hi Russ, keep coming back... it works!) Like most of you I grew up in the back of Wagons and NEVER wore a seatbelt. My Mom ALWAYS had a station wagon, Even when I was in High school I though it would be cool to have an SS or GTO wagon, I took my drivers test in a '72 Torino Squire!

Anyway, My first Wagon was an '81 Fairmont 200 Auto, I put 181,000 miles on the car, it was a MACHINE.
Since then I've had a few more.

    Here's my daily driver.

My 2000 V70R, Turbo AWD, 300hp......... Where was I again? Oh yeah.

I also have an '83 Subaru Wagon that I bought new, and a Tahoe (also very wagonlike!)

Hey Russ. I'm surprised I never noticed that you never did do an Intro. Well by all your other warm posts, welcome again! :Welcome:

My first Fairmont was a brand new 1981 Futura Wagon, loaded. Even had the Premium Sound that I'm retro installing into my 1979 Squire. Awesome car - had the 255 V8 and power everything. No woodie though.

Great looking bevvies in your harem. Is your wife jealous? :rofl2:

Well... She's a little leery of the Volvo, in a weak moment I slipped and mentioned that I had noticed a slight vibration when ever I go over 100 MPH :slap:..... It is an awesome ride I can't decide what is more addicting, The power curve, the handling or the Dolby Prologic surround.....

But then I fire up the Caprice with the V8 and 3" exhaust and I remember that I'm an AMERICAN Dammit!:1st: (y)

I tell you, I'd drive a Fairmont wagon again in a heartbeat, I loved that car.
In the summer of '90 when the car was somewhere past 100K I took it on a rafting trip in eastern Oregon. I tied a 14 foot raft with frame to the top, filled it with camping gear then drove 150 miles at nearly a mile altitude and 100 degree temps. I though I'd kill it for sure.... Never even ran hot. Great car.....

:Welcome:, real nice pair you have. I've allways liked and wanted a Volvo wagon but I would have to get rid of several toys before my honey would go for it:p. As for your Chev...it's white with wood(y), no need to say any more;)

SS or GTO wagon, well here are a couple GTOs. Not sure if the 2 door one works for me looks wise, I think a Vista roof would make it complete.

Have you tried? One day i was curious to see if the Caprice would do "100 on the cruise with the AC blowing cold and the Concert Sound cranked"
It did it like NUTHIN", it was like sitting on my couch:dancing:

Test-drove a 2006 a few months back. Very nice - electric blue, light beige interior, which is EXACTLY how I would want it. Unfortunately, wifey said ixnay on the pend-sa........(food more important)

That's a drag.... Keep looking. The "R" is without a doubt the nicest car I ever owned. I added IPD sway bars, TME springs and in Inmotion ECU. Volvo's also have the nicest seats of any car I've ever driven. The car is sooo much fun to drive, when you climb in it's like putting on a leather glove, and the power curve is SICK. The ecu maintains the stock torque limiter until 3rd gear, when it hits 60 the gloves come off , when it gets to 65 you better have made up your mind about how fast you want to go because it hits 100 about 3 seconds later :chirp:
But like I said........ Some how the Caprice always woo's be back.......:162:

FYI - The car was redone for the 2001 model year, then again for 2009, but no 'R' model now.......

Just for reference, here's an '05 somewhat near you........

For what it's worth, Mike, I think you'd like one of these.....and yes, it's AWD.
