I was out of breath by the time I got to the end of this seller's description (lol), but this looks to be a great wagon. Already has 13 bids with reserve not met. A fact checker might reveal that the seller may have misquoted the engine (ad reads "305"). Also wondering if this might be a flip, considering how new the plate number is. What I like about this one that mine does not have are the shoulder belts in the back seat.

Most probably a flipper, and posted from his phone no less (notice the lack of punctuation in his text...). As to the '305', Matt, he could be correct. Some of these wagons did receive the 305 instead of the Olds 307. I just don't know what the parameters were for that situation.

Can anyone tell the difference by a look from the top? I'm not sharp enough to......

It's a bit hard for me to point out the differences using the seller's only engine photo (below), but this looks identical to mine.

I believe GM used the Olds 307 in all of their wagons following the 1986 model year, until they adopted the next generation design ("whale" wagons).

Yes I believe that's a 307, I can tell by the oil fill tube tube in the front center of the motor next to the AC compressor.

Also, this car has had the rear bumper fillers replaced. A lot of these dry out and need replaced, but the owner incorrectly painted them the upper body color instead of the standard dark tan the helps them blend into the woodgrain. I'd repaint them. They stick out lick a sore thumb.

Paint color for the fillers is correct for front, but nor back where it should be brown to match the wood grain - you're correct. :sarcasticclap:

I agree its a 5.0 Olds 307, besides the Oil Fill Tube that ID's it as an Olds Engine, the A/C Compressor on the Passenger Side of the Engine Compartment means its not a Chevy V-8. All Olds, Pontiac, and Buick Engines have it located there.

That's odd, because mine are (actually: 'were') body color (white), and they look correct to me. Then again, I've got moldings around the end of the woodgrain on the sides, so it seems to integrate better.

For Pontiac. Hard to tell for sure given the brochure paint color.

Same instance - better able to tell. Pontiac v. Caprice was simply different.

SOLD for $6350. I'd say a good buy.

I've noticed a lot of 'good buys' end up back in a week or two because the 'buyer never showed up'.
