For $3999, the only real strike on this sharp Cadillac should be the infamous V8-6-4 engine. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/ctd/5780581554.html
I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious. How do you know this car has that engine? There's no mention of engine in the ad. Was that the only engine available for this car that year?
According to wikipedia (yeah I know), you could get the 350 Diesel, the Buick 4.1 V6, or the 6.0 V8-6-4 in '81.
The photos aren't really all that great, but, if the car had the V-8-6-4, wasn't that indicated in badging just behind the front wheels just below the trim strip that starts there and runs all the way back? We can't read the badge that's there, but it looks long enough. Is this what that badge looked like?
The VIN is right there, the eighth digit is 9- 368ci V8 DFI Cadillac Variable Displacement (8-6-4) 1981 Only.
Oh yeah. Imagine shelling out the pennies for a Cadillac that year and being unable to drive it the majority of the time...
Ya know, if GM hadn't cheapened out on licensing fees by getting the Bendix EFI instead of Bosch's, they would've been light-years ahead of everybody else.
