I have a 1980 Buick Lasabre Estate Wagon with the 350 cid. I have a couple of vaaccum lines missing. Does anyone have a vacuum hose diagram? Thanks in advance
The car is running good. The A/C doesn't work but that's a separate issue. When you switch the A/C controls from economy to defrost the air doesn't change to the other vents. I believe this was a vacuum operation but am not sure. Possibly one of the missing vacuum lines may control this too. There are also two open vacuum ports on the carb. I am no sure where they go.

WHICH 350? Buick, Olds, or Chevy?

In any case, the HVAC is vacuum operated. The default mode when there is no vacuum is air out the defrost and floor vents. There should be a vacuum reservoir (plastic ball) attached to the evaporator housing at the rear passenger side of the engine. There are two hoses going to this ball. The black one runs to the intake manifold to provide vacuum and the purple one runs through the firewall to the vacuum switch on the HVAC control panel

Thanks for the reply. I have the Buick 350 in mine.
The air does only come out of the floor and defrost. I will look for other missing lines this afternoon. I know there are two open vaaccum ports on the carb and there is one larger one missing by the firewall on the drivers side. None of those ports have any vaaccum on them. Just trying to find what's missing.

Start with the vacuum ball and the hoses going to it.

Surprising to me. I thought for sure a '80 Buick LeSabre Estate would have the Olds 307 in it. Nope. The (Pontiac?) 301 was standard, with the 350 gas and 350 diesel optional. Your couldn't even get the 307 in one for 1980.

All that changed for the '81 model year though, when the dropped the 301 in favor of a 4-barrel 307 (same one I have in the Safari), and dropped the gas 350 completely. Still could get the diesel though.

I have found out that 1980 was the last year for the Buick 350. Surprisingly there is very little info on this engine online. I just ordered a complete 1980 service manual on disk last night. I'm hoping to aquire a vast knowledge of the Buick 350.

Can you take one or two pics of the vacuum ports? I might be able to help. Also if you can take pics of the rear of the engine compartment behind the engine, it might reveal what is missing.

The first two pic are from the rear on the engine compartment by the firewall. The last pic shows the missing lines from the front of the carb.

To start off, two of the pics are the front of the carburetor, and the third is of the windshield wiper motor and washer pump, IIRC. On the pump, there is one nipple without a hose, and dangling below the inlet and one outlet hose; if that dangling hose goes to a squirter, then this end goes on the pump nipple.
Of the carb lines, there are three possible lines to choose from. Question: did you have to disconnect a vacuum line to remove the air cleaner? Or did it just come off? I ask because the one pic, looking from passenger to driver's side, has a hose laying across the throttle kicker (the cylinder on the bracket screwed to the driver's front corner) which may go to the air cleaner. The same pic shows another small vacuum line laying below the fuel line coupling and not attached to anything. Use your needle nose pliers to attach it to the small of the two uncovered nipples, on the right as you look at the carb's front. And from the other carb pic, looking from driver's side diagonally across the carb, there appears to be another, slightly larger hose that looks to be unhooked; that one may go to the larger nipple. Look at the big line going to the center of the top at a 45* angle toward the driver's side; if you unplug it and look straight below it, I think you'll see the line I'm talking about. Lemme know if you have any problems.

Yes there was a vacuum line going to the air cleaner. Thanks for your reply. After reading your comments, I went back and looked at the pics and zoomed in and can see the lines laying there like you describe.
