I know it is a difficult question to answer however I am trying to determine what a 1970 1/2 Falcon wagon might be worth. They are similar to 1970 Torino wagons and I think could have the same options. I have a 1970 1/2 two door sedan and have a chance to pick up the wagon, but am trying to get a feel for what a realistic price might be. 302 auto car.
    Thanks. Jim

Jim, it's hard to determine a value of something without seeing it. In person is best, but at least having photos helps. That said I would check some online sources. NADA gives classic car values, but from my experience they seem to be a bit high. I know Haggerty also can provide values. Most sites ask for some specifics and then give you an estimate. At the very least they can give you a baseline to work with.
    Good luck.

Condition is everything. Is it rusty? Does it run? Is it a decent driver? Need total restoration? Show car? Although they're probably harder to find than their Torino cousins, I'm not sure they have much more value than the Torino. It's all about demand. Let us know how it goes. We'd love to see some pictures of it. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I know without specifics it is near impossible, I was trying to get a base feel for the wagons in general. I have a pretty good idea on the 1970 1/2 2-door sedans but wagons are scarce and therefore I feel unsure on pricing. I have a few I am looking at. One, the Falcon, runs, drives with cowl rust in primer V8 car; one, Torino, in primer with bondo, runs and drives 6cyl; and the last, Torino, does not run or drive, V8 car, good options, 351 auto, some rust. I will post whatever I come up with and probably ask for more advice. Thanks.

NADA and other old car price guides are grossly optimistic in pricing. Collector Car Price Tracker compiles ebay auction sales that have actually closed, so cash has changed hands. The data isn't perfect, but it's a lot more representative than Barrett Jackson auction data.

In any case, this is a pretty rare car, as you are well aware. Collector Car Price Tracker shows sales in the $3K-$8K range, but those sales are about 10 years ago. There is no current data I can find.

Bear in mind, that price range may not take "in work restoration" into account. I'm not an expert, but even with it's rarity, one in the condition you describe may be worth a lot when restored, but not in this condition, perhaps 10-15% of good restoration pricing. However, of what you described, the Falcon would be in the middle, the 351 Torino would be the best value and the straight-six Torino would be a parts car, as straight-six drivetrains actually reduce the car's value and the Bondo doesn't help at all.

If it were a perfect world, you'd work good deals for all three and get them.

Just returned from the FCA National and there was only one wagon, a 1966 I think, that was stock and beautiful. I drove my 1970 1/2 Falcon 2-door sedan and started thinking a Torino and Falcon wagon tow vehicle would really have been cool. Thanks for the advise, I appreciate your help.
