mostly orange cleaner (citrus) warm it up a bit (the engine, not hot, just warm, 2 minutes from cold) wet it with water, soak it with orange, let it soak for 10 min, hose it off, drive it dry and repeat after it cools

    and repeat

    and repeat

I had to do it like 4 times

then I soaked everything in sight with WD40 (while everything was wet) from the wipers themselves, cowl weatherstrip, firewall, inner fenders, dowwn to the frame and everything in between.

the WD40 was great for weatherstrips, black plastic, inner fenders, hoses, hood hinges

and it penetrated and is staying great looking

the car in general was so dried up and tired, the WD40 helped everything it touched, just renewed everything

At WalMart they sell this stuff called "Purple Power" cleaner degreaser. This stuff is awesome on engines and especially white wall tires, try it sometime! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
